Your questions, answered

Where is Bootheel Recycling located?

Bootheel Recycling is at 202 North Harris Drive in Dexter, Missouri 63841. We serve customers throughout the Bootheel and Southeast Missouri, including Sikeston, Poplar Bluff, Cape Girardeau, Kennett, Malden, and Bloomfield.

What are your hours?

We're open Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and closed for lunch from 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM. The last truck scale weight is taken at 3:15 PM. We're closed Saturday and Sunday.

Do you pay cash for scrap metal?

Yes. We pay on the spot for your scrap metal, weighed on state-certified scales at current market pricing. Bring your ferrous and non-ferrous metal in during business hours — no appointment needed.

What kinds of metal do you buy?

We buy a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including copper, aluminum, brass, stainless steel, steel, cast iron, wire, electric motors, batteries, catalytic converters, and complete junk vehicles. If you're not sure whether we take something, just call us at (573) 624-3113.

Do you help unload?

We do. Our crew helps you get your load off your truck or trailer — it's part of how we make recycling easy. You won't be left handling everything yourself.

Do you rent roll-off dumpsters?

Yes. We rent roll-off dumpsters for home cleanouts, remodels, roofing, construction, and commercial projects across Southeast Missouri. Call or text us and we'll match you with the right size and deliver fast.

Do I need a title to scrap my car?

A title is preferred and required in many cases, but call us at (573) 624-3113 to talk through your situation — in some cases we can work with you. We'll explain exactly what's needed before you make the trip.

Do you offer pickup or commercial accounts?

Yes. We set up scheduled pickups, container programs, and ongoing scrap accounts for businesses, contractors, farms, and municipalities. Contact us to build a commercial recycling program that fits your operation.

How do I know I'm getting a fair price?

Every load is weighed on state-certified scales and priced at current market rates, and our staff will walk you through exactly how your total is calculated. Fair, transparent pricing is the foundation of how we do business.

What forms of identification do I need to sell scrap?

Missouri law requires a valid government-issued photo ID for scrap metal transactions. Bring your driver's license or state ID with you and we'll take care of the rest quickly.

Why didn't my catalytic converter bring the same amount as someone else's?

Catalytic converter values can vary a lot, even when two converters look similar from the outside. Pricing depends on the stamped converter number, vehicle application, condition, and current precious metal market. When a converter has a readable stamped number, we use that number to help identify and price it more accurately. If the number is missing, unreadable, or cannot be verified, we pay a standard price based on the information available. We're always happy to explain how we arrived at a price.

Why wasn't my scrap worth what I expected?

Scrap value depends on material type, weight, cleanliness, contamination, current market conditions, and how the material is graded. Sometimes customers expect more because of what they heard online or from someone else, but every load is different. At Bootheel Recycling, we focus on fair market pricing, certified scales, and clear explanations so you understand what you have and how it is valued.

Do you always pay the highest scrap prices?

We focus on fair, competitive market pricing — not gimmicks or promises we can't control. Scrap prices change with the market, and material grades can vary. What we can promise is honest weights, certified scales, a clean and organized yard, helpful staff, and a team that treats you with respect.
